Depression Therapy in Lagos that is Supportive, Confidential and Effective

It's more than sadness. It's the flatness, food without taste, mornings without reasons, pretending to laugh at the right moments. And because you're still showing up to work, still replying "I'm fine," the people around you may have no idea.
Here is what we need you to know first: depression is not weakness, not a spiritual failing, and not your personality. It is a treatable condition, and treatment works.

Our depression therapy is supportive and collaborative: together, we work to understand and alleviate your symptoms by addressing the maladaptive beliefs and thought patterns underneath them and gently refocusing your mind toward better living. Every treatment plan is customised, because no two people experience depression the same way.

Process

How treatment works

Step 1

Orientation

A gentle first consultation. You share only what you're ready to share; we listen and set goals together.

Step 2

Identification

We identify the thought patterns and beliefs feeding the low mood. Naming them is the first loosening of their grip.

Step 3

Exploration

Guided, paced work on the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours involved — with your therapist beside you, not ahead of you.

Step 4

Resolution

A personalised plan of strategies and supports for lasting recovery — and for protecting it.

Available in person at our Lekki clinic or online via secure video, anywhere in Nigeria.

Initial Assessment

The therapist and client start with an initial assessment session where they get to know each other. The therapist asks questions to understand the client's presenting concerns, personal history, current life circumstances, and goals for therapy. This helps in establishing a therapeutic alliance and creating a treatment plan tailored to the client's needs.

Establishing Goals

Based on the assessment, the therapist and client collaboratively set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for therapy. These goals serve as a roadmap for the therapeutic process and provide direction for the sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know it's depression and not just a rough patch?

If low mood, flatness, or exhaustion has persisted for more than two weeks and is affecting your daily life, it's worth a professional assessment — that's exactly what your first session is for.

Will everything stay private?

Completely. Confidentiality is absolute, and online sessions are held over secure video.

Do I have to talk about everything immediately?

No. You set the pace. The first sessions are about safety and trust.

What if I've tried before and it didn't help?

Fit matters enormously in therapy. A different therapist, approach, or customised plan can produce a very different outcome — and we'll match you carefully.

Crisis notice

If you are having thoughts of ending your life or are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a suicide prevention helpline now. Therapy appointments are not emergency care — but urgent, immediate help is available, and you deserve it.

You don't have to feel better before reaching out. Reaching out is how it starts.
